little boy blue and the man on the moon

so dominic learned the little boy blue poem in kindergarten last week and i told him it reminded me of this song.  i played it for him, and he's been hooked... singing it over and over. 

dear santa

i asked dominic to write a letter to santa to ask for what he'd like for christmas this year.  he didn't want any help at all with the letter, and this is what he wrote:

my christmas list
santa,
i was a good boy thanksgiving with speaking with good purpose on thanksgiving.

*notice: he didn't ask for any presents, he just wanted santa to know that he speaks with good purpose.  such a sweetheart!

we were at the grocery store and dominic was riding in one of those fire truck shopping carts.  i said, "put the brake on!"  he says, "at northeast?"  i say, "northeast? how do you know what northeast is?"  dominic says, "i dunno... the g.p.s. i guess".

dominicism

Dominic asked me for a piece of gum while I was driving. So I reached with my right hand & started digging through my oversized purse..... I can't find the gum.

I took the whole bag and handed it to Dom in the back seat and asked, "can you dig through here to find your gum?"

After a brief moment of digging Dominic says, "Mommy, you need a kangaroo keeper."

I'd never heard of that so I asked, "what is that?!" Dominic says, "it's something you put inside your purse to keep it organized".

(I think he's remembered every commercial he's ever seen)
