OW! THAT HURTS!!

dominic had his doctor check up, which is required for kindergarten registration. he still has a tube that's lodged in his ear canal, which we were told a year ago that it would fall out on its own but hasn't. he needs to see an ENT doctor to have it removed. other than that, he's in very good health... though the doctor said he's too skinny. he weighs only 32 pounds! he's so darn picky when eating and fills up on water and milk. not good.

he ended up needing 4 shots!! (2 in each thigh) the first two, he scowled and said, "OW! THAT HURTS!!" the third one, he started bawling so hard that he didn't even notice the fourth one. poor kid. one of the shots has really bothered him. he has a huge welt on his leg and it's really sore.

at least the sore leg didn't stop us from spending yet another day at the pool. dominic is doing very well learning to swim. today he was able to hold himself afloat for a few seconds.

tom is busy with work, this is IRS week. lots of people waiting until the last minute to make their tax payments are calling in. we hope that after this week his hectic schedule and work demands will slow down some.

tennessee is okay. i feel more like i'm on a vacation (sunny, warm weather, days at the pool, picnics in the park). i don't yet feel like i'm "home" but i hope this will come with time. dominic is adjusting as well as can be expected. some behavior problems but tom & i have had to toughen up the discipline around here, so no more mr. and mrs. nice guy.

we had an offer on our house and we're waiting to see how this firms up. the cost of selling the house is adding up and we may end up having to rent in nashville for longer than we'd expected. but the silver lining is that we're all together again and this we do not take for granted.
